Google/gtalk, yahoo/yim, msn/msnmessenger, aol/aim...?

ok well thses are probably the 4 biggest competitors with all the emails and instant messeging programs, what are the ones you chose for either email or im and for what reason?

Most of my friends have historically been on YM, so I have an account with them. However most of my office collegues use aim so for office purposed, I use that. Interestingly, ever since Gtalk got supported via the browser, I see a lot of my friends use that as well





I personally solved my problems of multiple chat clients by using gaim (gaim.sourceforge.net/) which lets me log on to all of these at the same time and its tabbed conversation support prevents my computer from looking clutterred

Reply:For email I use gmail and yahoo. As for instant messeging all you need is Trillian. It supports AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, and IRC.
Reply:googletalk is great for sending a free voicemail. i think google has the best webmail too, i like the way it organizes your messages and replies into conversations and the find feature is great. plus the interface to read mail is way better than the clunky msn live or even the old msn. i used msn hotmail since it started, even before msn bought it, and now i use google. but for chat, or talking face to face, I like msn. msn has the best big video stream you can send and receive for free.

Reply:i have both yahoo and msn. I like yahoo mail better. I don't use my MSN mail, I only have it because I use its messenger cos some of my friends have msn messenger -- (although now you can message from yahoo 2 messenger because they've joined up kinda). Msn messenger's pretty cool cos there's all backgrounds and doobylaca things like emoticons and stuff (but u hav 2 buy them ) and you can also make your own emoticons so that's pretty cool.





Yahoo mail is way better.. it just is for me anyway. I like yahoo messengers avatars they're way cool, cos u can customise an avatar 2 be you and change their clothes mood, what they look like so that's cool. There are audibles in yahoo messenger, but u can't make ur own emoticons. But I like their default emoticons (like :D better than the MSN ones. Yahoo has coolies backgrounds and stuff and u don't hav 2 pay for them and other stuff that works cool like file/photo sharing, games, phoning over, vid, prettiying up ur writing etc. MSN has most of this 2 tho.





All out, I like Yahoo better. :)
